Purpose 

The ICT Engineer is the senior technical expert and ICT focal point for the assigned location. S/he is responsible for the strategic planning, ICT management and operation, and evolution of all ICT systems/services, ensuring alignment with ICRC ICT policies, international standards, ICT objectives and global ICT strategy.

The incumbent ensures high availability, security, resilience and compliance of ICT infrastructure, leads ICT projects and continuous improvements, manages local ICT team and local budget as well as provides expert advice to management for decision-making. S/he designs and implements robust, secure and scalable ICT solutions, guarantees business continuity and disaster recovery, and acts as escalation point for complex incidents.

Main Requirements:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer science, telecommunications, electronics or related field.
• Minimum 7-8 years of progressive experience in ICT infrastructure management, including at least 4 years as ICT Specialist 2, ICT Engineer, ICT Officer or equivalent role in an international organization, I/NGO, or corporate environment.
• Experience with satellite communications (BGAN, IP Terminal, Starlink, Thuraya, Iridium etc.), fiber optics, and VHF/UHF radio systems in field/remote environments.
• Experience in ITSM tools (ServiceNow/Jira Service Management).
• Proven track record in managing enterprise networks (Fortigate ecosystem: FortiGate, FortiSwitch, FortiAP, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer), SD-WAN, and Windows Server 2016/2019/2022, virtualization (Hyper-V).
• Experience with Microsoft 365 ecosystem, Server Administration, Azure AD/Entra ID, MDM/MAM/Intune, MS Teams, MS SharePoint, Hypervisors, NAS/Backup system, DNS, DHCP, IP/Subnet Addressing etc.   
• Knowledge and demonstrated expertise in cybersecurity, firewall management, endpoint protection, vulnerability management and incident response etc.
• ICT management certification (ITIL) is an asset.
• Certification in project management is an asset.
• Certification in Cyber security is an asset.
• Microsoft certification (MCSA level) with experience of Windows Server Platform, Hypervisors and Office 365 support.
• Knowledge of OSI model and its application in technical troubleshooting.
• Excellent organizational communication and technical documentation.
• Excellent command of English and Urdu. Additional local language(s) is an asset.
