Objective of the Position

The Distribution Officer will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing distribution activities to ensure that assistance reaches eligible beneficiaries safely, fairly, and on time.

Key Responsibilities

The Distribution Officer will perform the following duties:

• Plan and organize distribution activities in coordination with the Project Coordinator and field teams
• Prepare distribution plans, schedules, and site layouts
• Verify beneficiary lists in coordination with Social Mobilizers and community representatives
• Ensure distributions are conducted in a transparent, orderly, and dignified manner
• Supervise distribution staff, volunteers, and daily laborers during distribution activities
• Ensure proper crowd management, safety, and protection measures at distribution sites
• Maintain accurate distribution records, including signed beneficiary lists and stock movement records
• Coordinate with logistics and warehouse staff for timely delivery of items to distribution points
• Ensure quality and quantity of items distributed as per approved distribution plans
• Address beneficiary queries and complaints at distribution sites and report them through proper channels
• Ensure inclusion of women, elderly persons, and persons with disabilities during distributions
• Prepare daily distribution reports, photos, and summaries for submission to the Project Coordinator
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies, donor requirements, and humanitarian principles

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, management, logistics, or a related field preferred
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in humanitarian distributions or emergency response projects
• Strong understanding of distribution procedures and beneficiary accountability
• Experience working in remote or challenging environments
• Good communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills
• Familiarity with Gilgit-Baltistan context and local languages will be an asset
