Job Title: Small Business Outreach and Training Coordinator

Organizational Background

The Akhter Hameed Khan Foundation (AHKF) is a registered non-profit organization with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), and recognized by the Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy (PCP). AHKF operates throughout Pakistan with a mission to enhance livelihoods, foster entrepreneurship, and empower underserved communities.

The Enterprise, Livelihood, Training, and Mentorship (E-LTM) Project focuses on strengthening the capacity and sustainability of micro and small enterprises (MSMEs) in Sahiwal, aiming to improve their employability.

Role Purpose

The Small Business Outreach and Training Coordinator (SBOTC) will act as the primary representative for outreach, registration, training, and mentorship initiatives at the district level. This individual will lead and mentor a team of Enterprise Growth Advisors, ensuring efficient identification, training, and development of MSMEs. Additionally, the SBOTC will facilitate business networking and market connections among the district, community, and AHKF headquarters.

Key Responsibilities

  1. MSME Outreach & Registration

    • Spearhead the identification and mobilization of eligible MSMEs in collaboration with Enterprise Growth Advisors.
    • Supervise the registration and profiling process of MSMEs following project standards.
    • Promote equal participation of both women and men entrepreneurs, focusing on marginalized groups.
  2. Training & Mentorship Facilitation

    • Create and deliver training sessions for enterprises, both digitally and in-person.
    • Customize training materials covering business management, financial literacy, marketing, digital tools, and entrepreneurship skills.
    • Provide ongoing mentorship and coaching support for MSMEs through Advisors.
    • Evaluate the quality of training delivery and assess participant learning results.
  3. Business Networking & Market Linkages

    • Establish partnerships with local chambers of commerce, financial institutions, suppliers, and buyers.
    • Organize exposure visits, business fairs, and networking opportunities for MSMEs.
    • Assist MSMEs in accessing credit options, digital platforms, and new market opportunities.
  4. Coordination & Reporting

    • Coordinate district-level project activities with AHKF headquarters and the Project Coordinator.
    • Collaborate with community leaders, local government, and stakeholders to enhance project visibility and acceptance.
    • Prepare and submit timely reports about MSME outreach, training, mentorship, and outcomes.
    • Document success stories, case studies, and lessons learned.
  5. Team Supervision & Support

    • Supervise and offer guidance to Enterprise Growth Advisors.
    • Conduct regular team meetings and performance evaluations.
    • Enhance the capacity of Advisors in outreach, training facilitation, and business linkage development.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree in business administration, Economics, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three years of relevant experience in enterprise development, MSME training, livelihoods, or business support initiatives.
  • Proven experience in developing and delivering training (both in-person and online).
  • Demonstrated ability to create business networks and partnerships for SMEs.
  • Background in supervising community outreach or advisory teams.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Proficient in English and Urdu, with additional regional/local language skills preferred.
