Laar Humanitarian and Development Programme (LHDP) is a registered national non-governmental organization working in Sindh Province to improve the lives of vulnerable communities through humanitarian assistance and sustainable development interventions. LHDP is currently implementing the WASH & Livelihood Support for Affected People of Sindh project in Taluka Jati, District Sujawal with support of Action Against Hanger- ACF

Position Summary

The Agriculture & Livelihood Officer will be responsible for planning, implementing, monitoring, and reporting on agriculture and livelihood interventions under the project. The officer will work closely with communities, government line departments, local stakeholders, and project staff to ensure quality implementation of climate-resilient livelihood activities and achievement of project objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement, and monitor agriculture and livelihood activities in accordance with the approved work plan.

  • Conduct community mobilization and facilitate beneficiary identification and selection using agreed project criteria.

  • Coordinate livelihood assessments, market assessments, and value chain-related activities.

  • Organize and facilitate farmer trainings on climate-smart agriculture, sustainable farming practices, kitchen gardening, and other livelihood-related topics.

  • Coordinate the distribution of agriculture and livelihood inputs and ensure transparent documentation.

  • Provide regular technical guidance and follow-up support to beneficiary households.

  • Liaise with the Agriculture Department,  local authorities, and other relevant stakeholders.

  • Monitor field activities, collect project data, and maintain accurate records and beneficiary databases.

  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and activity reports with supporting documentation.

  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, donor requirements, safeguarding, accountability, and protection principles.

  • Perform any other project-related duties assigned by the Project Manager.

Qualification & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in Agriculture, Agricultural Economics.

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in agriculture and livelihood programming with NGOs/INGOs.

  • Experience in climate-smart agriculture, livelihood recovery, value chain development, and market systems is highly desirable.

  • Experience working in humanitarian and resilience projects will be an added advantage.

  • Strong coordination, facilitation, and report-writing skills.

  • Good knowledge of MS Office applications.

  • Fluency in Sindhi and Urdu is essential; working knowledge of English is required.

  • Willingness to travel extensively within the project area.
