  1. 1.    JOB SUMMARY:

 

The Social Mobilizer will play a critical role in engaging communities, raising awareness, and supporting the implementation of project initiatives. This role involves conducting awareness sessions, facilitating the formation of community-based committees, and ensuring active participation of vulnerable groups in project activities. The Social Mobilizer will also assist in financial inclusion efforts, such as wallet account opening, to support project outcomes.

 

  1. 2.    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

A)    Community Awareness and Engagement:

  • Conduct community awareness sessions on disaster risks, preparedness, and early warning systems.
  • Disseminate key messages and information to ensure community understanding and preparedness.

 

B)  Capacity Building:

  • Support the formation and training of Early Warning Committees (EWCs) in target areas.
  • Facilitate regular meetings and capacity-building sessions for EWCs to enhance their effectiveness.

 

C)  Inclusion and Participation:

  • Engage vulnerable groups, including women, children, and persons with disabilities, in project activities.
  • Ensure that project interventions are inclusive and cater to the needs of all community members.

 

D)  Financial Inclusion:

  • Assist community members in opening wallet accounts to support project-related financial transactions.
  • Provide guidance on using wallet accounts for secure and efficient money management.

 

E)  Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Document community engagement activities and maintain accurate records.
  • Prepare and submit regular progress reports to the project team.

 

F)   Coordination and Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with local authorities, community leaders, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth implementation of project activities.
  • Act as a liaison between the community and the project team.
  1. 3.    QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, or related field.
  • Proven experience in community mobilization and awareness-raising activities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse groups, including vulnerable populations.
  • Knowledge of disaster risk reduction and early warning systems is an asset.
  • Basic understanding of financial inclusion and wallet account opening processes.
  • Proficiency in English, Urdu and Local Language
  • Willingness to travel to remote areas and work in challenging environments.
