Job Description

1. Background

The Social Lab Initiative under Partnerships for Change Project, implemented by Organization in collaboration with University of Swat (UoS) and KPCVE.

To visually document and showcase the project’s impact, Organization seeks to engage a professional photographer/videographer to produce a compelling 3-minute documentary that highlights project activities, key milestones, success stories, and the transformational change brought about by the project, the 6 social enterprises and the Gulibagh community transformed into a Sustainable Methods and Resilient Technologies (SMaRT) Village.

2. Objective

To conceptualize, shoot, and produce a high-quality, 3-minute documentary video that captures the essence, key interventions, success and outcomes of the Partnerships for Change project.

3. Scope of Work

The consultant will be responsible for the following tasks:

Participate in a briefing session with Organization’s Communications and Project teams to understand the project goals, narrative themes, and visual expectations.

Develop a short concept/script and production timeline for the 3-minute documentary, aligned with project messaging.

Visit selected project sites (to be shared by Organization) to capture:

1. Project interventions in action (training, enterprise development, etc.)
2. Interviews/testimonials from beneficiaries, community members, and project staff, role of Social Lab
3. Relevant B-roll footage showing context, landscapes, community settings, etc.
4. Show the 6 enterprises/businesses established in SMaRT Village (Gulibagh)

Capture professional photographs of beneficiaries, project activities, and key visuals for use in reports and communications.

Produce and edit a 3-minute video documentary, including:

1. Voiceover (if required)
2. Subtitles in English and Urdu
3. Background music (copyright-free)
4. Color grading and professional editing
5. Deliver raw photographs and all raw video footage alongside the final product.

4. Deliverables

1. Pre-Production:

• Documentary concept/script and storyboard
• Detailed shooting schedule and locations

2. Production:

• On-site photography and videography (as per approved plan)
• Interviews and visual storytelling elements

3. Post-Production:

• 3-minute high-resolution final documentary (MP4 format, with and without subtitles)
• At least 50 high-quality photographs
• All raw footage and photography (submitted via external hard drive or cloud)

1st Draft by: 22nd September

Final Documentary by 26th September

5. Location

Filming will take place at selected Partnerships for Change project sites in University of Swat and Gulibagh, in close coordination with project teams.

6. Qualification and Experience

• Proven experience in documentary-style video production, preferably in development/humanitarian settings
• Proficiency in photography, videography, video editing software (Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, etc.)
• Ability to work independently and deliver within tight deadlines
• Strong aesthetic and storytelling sensibility
• Access to professional-grade camera, audio, and editing equipment

7. Ownership and Rights

All content (photos and videos) produced under this assignment will be the intellectual property of Organization. The consultant may not use or share the material for any personal or commercial purposes without prior written approval.

8. Payment Schedule

Payment will be made upon successful delivery of the documentary.
