Background

A development sector organization based in Islamabad is seeking to hire a motivated and analytical Research Officer based in Islamabad. The selected candidate will support research implementation, field coordination, data management, and analytical reporting for evidence-based development initiatives.

1. Qualifications & Education

• 16 years of education; Master’s degree in Social Sciences (e.g., Economics, Sociology, Public Policy, Development Studies, Statistics, or related fields)
• 1–2 years of relevant experience in research or primary data collection (or equivalent, as noted above). MPhil will be an added advantage and may count as equivalent to 2 years of relevant work experience

2. Skills & Competencies

• Statistical software proficiency in R, SPSS, Python or Stata writing syntax
• Programming knowledge (added advantage): Python, Java, D3, R
• Ability to conduct computational statistics and data management
• Understanding of research methodology, data visualization tools and techniques

3. Responsibilities

• Support the execution of fieldwork, with dedicating time to on-site monitoring activities
• Provide support in data collection and quality control
• Manage data entry, data cleaning and data management
• Assist in statistical analysis and development of analytical outputs
• Assist in the preparation of research reports, summaries, and documentation

4. Other Requirements

• Must be comfortable working in field environments and managing local field teams

5. Compensation

• Salary range: PKR 80,000 – 100,000 per month (based on skills assessment and experience)
